AMD is the second largest supplier of Ivy Bridge Laptops for personal use. Ivy Bridge Release Date is not confirmed yet. Their products are found in both high performance and budget-oriented. The most popular offerings currently are the Phenom II and Fusion platforms.
Intel Processor Numbers
When you decide to look for the right processor for your computer beside the processor brand, specific system configuration and system level benchmarks you also have to consider the processor number. When you decide on specific processor brand and type you will have to compare processor numbers to verify the processor contains the featured you are looking for. The processors with higher numbers within the same family and same range have greater performance and more features than the processors with the lower numbers. Intel processor numbers are the representatives of processors relative performance within the same processors family. Processor number cannot be used to compare CPU’s form different families. Also, the numbers in different ranges cannot be used for performance compassion, even if the numbers belong to the same family. Older Intel families used numerical processors numbers. The first digit in this number signified processor family, and remaining digits represented relative CPU performance. Newer processors families, in addition to a number used one letter prefix that indicated processors maximum power consumption.
